Job Description:

Act as the Quality Control Supervisor managing an SSPC certified QP1 System.

Ensure that the contractor uses qualified personnel for Quality Control.

Ensure the use of proper inspection forms, recording procedures.

Ensure the correct of and properly operating calibrated equipment.

Review and sign Daily Inspection Reports, ensure that all work is inspected for conformance with contract requirements, good painting practices and internal QA procedures.

The QCS will ensure that nonconforming work is corrected and both it and rework are properly documented. The QCS will develop and/or review Test & Inspection Plans.

The QCS will conduct and/or review internal audits of the QP1 Program.

The QCS will oversee the Company Corrective Action Program, responding to external Corrective Action Reports (CARs), issue internal CARs and document corrective action of failure for Company Management Review.

Job Requirements/skill sets: Candidate shall have completed the SSPC QCS Course.  Achieved and maintained (at minimum) an SSPC PCI Level 2 or NACE CIP Level 2 Certification.

The successful candidate must have at least three (3) years as a full-time inspector with field experience in the Industrial/Marine Coatings industry. Be highly skilled in the completion of daily inspection reports. Know NAVSEA Standard Item 009-32.  Be familiar with all standards for preservation (ISO, ASTM, NACE and SSPC) and the SSPC QP1 Program requirements.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently developing and/or reviewing Test & Inspection Plans, Process Control Procedures and Work Packages as necessary.
